TERMS & CONDITIONS


Please read these product terms and conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms under which biltongbangers.com makes the products available to you, the customer.


GENERAL

These Product Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with UK laws. Any disputes will be decided by the English courts.

If any of these Product Terms is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Product Terms which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.


ACCEPTANCE

There will be no contract of any kind between you the customer and us at Biltong & Bangers unless and until the customer is charged and the goods dispatched. At any point up until dispatched, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. We also reserve the right to refuse to supply any individual or company.


PRODUCT REPRESENTATION & VARIABILITY 

Please note that all product images displayed on our website are representative only and may not reflect the exact item you receive. As we sell natural meat products, variations in appearance are normal and expected, including differences in size, shape, colour, and the ratio of lean meat to fat. We always strive to provide a balanced ratio of mostly lean meat with a healthy, natural amount of fat, though the precise composition may vary between individual cuts. Additionally, our default style is a medium to wet texture of biltong, which may result in natural variations in moisture levels between batches. If you would like to make any special requests, you are welcome to include these in your order notes, and we will do our best to accommodate them where possible.


PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

If for any reason beyond our control, we are unable to supply a particular product, we will notify you as soon as possible as to when we are able to send the product.


PRODUCT PRICES

Please note that prices may differ in any of our physical, brick and mortar store locations compared to those reflected on this website. The prices payable for the products that you order are clearly set out in the website. If, by mistake, we have under-priced an item, we will not be liable to supply that item to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we dispatch the item concerned. All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable unless otherwise stated. The price of the items does not include the delivery charge which will be included upon checkout and derived once we have calculated the total weight of your order. We reserve the right to amend our advertised prices without prior notification both for products and delivery costs.


PRODUCT ‘BEST BY’ DATES 

Some of our grocery (non-meat) items may be advertised with the best before dates next to the title of the product or placed under a special bargains category. This means the product is close to reaching the sell by date or has reached or passed that date. Items without the date will not be less than 60 days from the best by date. 

The unopened shelf life of our biltong is 16 weeks from the point of dispatch.


MEAT STORAGE CONDITIONS & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY

Our biltong and cured meat products must be stored correctly to maintain freshness and

quality. After delivery, they should be kept in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight,

heat sources, warm rooms, or enclosed warm spaces. Exposure to heat or inappropriate

storage can cause the product to sweat, soften, or change in appearance, colour or texture.

These changes are a result of improper storage rather than a product fault; therefore, we

are unable to offer refunds or replacements in such circumstances. (We also urge you to ensure you keep the product away from household pets as they are at a very high risk of being stolen and eaten when you’re not looking!)


DELIVERY / SHIPPING POLICY

Our shipping / fulfilment team works in our Southampton-based warehouse, Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00 GMT. 

Orders placed via BiltongBangers.com will be processed within 48 hours of the order date (excluding weekends), although where possible we will endeavour or process orders on the same business day. 

In most cases, processed orders will be picked up by Royal Mail on the same day of processing/packing, although from time to time, orders may be picked up the day after. 

Standard Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery takes approximately 1 to 3 working/business days from date of delivery despatch. 

For orders outside of the UK please contact us at orders@biltongbangers.comand we can determine if a shipping solution is possible for you. 

Delivery will be made to the address specified by you, the customer on the completed order form. 

We will also send you a tracking number for your order upon dispatch. 

We do our best to secure delivery within the time specified but shall not be liable for loss occasioned by delay in delivery arising out of any cause beyond our control. Should you need any assistance to track your order please contact us at orders@biltongbangers.com and we will investigate on your behalf and reply by email as soon as possible.

If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular product, we will notify you as soon as possible.


DELIVERY CHARGES: 

· Free delivery for orders over £75. 

· Shipping will be charged based on weight and calculated / communicated upon check out.  Charges vary from £4.95 to £11.95 depending on weight and apply to orders up to 20kg. For orders weighing over 20kg additional charges will apply. 


SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITY & DELAYS

While we always strive to deliver your order as quickly and smoothly as possible, certain factors are outside of our control once your parcel has been handed over to the courier. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to the following:


Courier Responsibility: Once your order has been dispatched, the courier becomes responsible for the safe and timely delivery of your parcel. We cannot be held liable for courier errors, delays, or lost packages.


Lost or Missing Shipments: If a shipment is lost or goes missing while in transit, we will support you in making a claim with the courier. However, as the loss occurs outside of our control, we cannot accept responsibility for the courier’s actions or outcomes of their investigation.


Courier or Operational Delays: Delays caused by the courier - such as staffing shortages, operational issues, logistical backlogs, or disruptions in their network - are beyond our control and do not constitute grounds for a refund.


Weather & Traffic Conditions: Severe weather, road closures, traffic incidents, and other unforeseen circumstances may impact delivery times. These delays are outside our influence.

We will always do our best to ensure your order is dispatched promptly and arrives as soon as possible. However, once it is with the courier, certain delays may occur that are beyond our control.

If you have not received delivery within 7 business days placing your order please email us at orders@biltongbangers.com and we’ll investigate and come back to you as soon as possible. 


CANCELLATION POLICY

To cancel an order please e-mail us at orders@biltongbangers.com, including your contact information, address and order number. We will only be able to cancel orders that have not yet been dispatched.


RETURNS POLICY

At Biltong & Bangers, we are committed to delivering high-quality, delicious biltong and

cured meat products. Our aim is for every customer to enjoy their order in perfect

condition. Because our products are fresh and perishable, the next section of our policy explains your rights and our procedures regarding returns, refunds, and reporting issues.


CHECKING YOUR ORDER UPON DELIVERY 

Customers are requested to check their order immediately upon delivery. If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us as soon as possible, within 48 hours of receiving your delivery. This enables us to assess the issue and to resolve matters quickly and effectively and ensure that the biltong is as close to the state that it would have left our facility as possible.

Please note that on biltong and meat products, returns or refunds cannot be offered if a significant portion (33% or more) of the net weight of the product has already been consumed. 


FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECT ITEMS

If an item arrives damaged, spoiled, not as described, or incorrectly fulfilled, you may be

entitled to a refund or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We will examine each case individually based on the information and evidence you provide.

Please include: 

- Your order number / proof of purchase

- Your name and contact details (email, phone)

- A description of the problem

- And ideally, photographs or video clearly showing the item in its delivered condition


PLEASE DO NOT RETURN ANY PRODUCTS TO US UNTIL WE HAVE RESPONDED TO YOUR CLAIM AND ADVISED ON NEXT STEPS. 

· If your claim is approved to move forward, we will work with you to establish whether a return or a refund is the best solution.

· Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your claim.

· Please note that to be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

If it is found that there is no defect/problem with your product you will be fully responsible for the full shipping cost.


REPLACEMENTS

If a replacement product is issued, it will be dispatched to the address provided with the

original order unless requested otherwise. Depending on location, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.


REFUNDS

If a refund is approved, it will be processed using your original method of payment.


CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, perishable goods such as biltong, fresh

cuts and cured meats are exempt from the usual 14-day cooling-off cancellation period. For

this reason, we are unable to accept returns or provide refunds for orders where the

customer has changed their mind.


PAYMENT

You will be charged for your order prior to it being dispatched. 

Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items together with VAT (if applicable) and the delivery charge.
